Youth Employability in the Field of Engineering (YEFE) Project:

The un-employability of most graduate from tertiary institutions is a measure factor contributor to unemployment rate in Nigeria, this is because most of the graduate role out each year do not have the required technical skills as required by employers of labour, let alone this graduate standing on their own to become entrepreneurs because the technical skills needed is not there.

Youth unemployment rate in Nigeria increased to 53.40 percent in the fourth quarter of 2020 from 40.80 percent in the second quarter of 2020 (National Bureau of Statistics, 2021)

The YEFE project is a social project where we train youths in the engineering technical skill set needed for their transition from school to work. We offer hands-on technical training, and outsourcing of technical personnel to related engineering firms. We have identified that in order to tackle the problem of un-employability in Nigeria, there is need to make available platform that will provide young graduate with practical technical training that will equip them with the hands on experience that is needed by industries and thereafter on the job placement to practically do what has been learnt in their various field of profession. We provide high quality technical vocational training and in-company training opportunities through the dual vocational training system

Girls in Engineering (GIE) Project:

Women remain grossly under-represented in engineering. Engineering and engineers are central to the process of innovation which drives economic growth. If women are left out, diversity in creativity, which is one of the key components of innovation, is stifled.

The Girls In Engineering Program advocates for gender equality in the engineering field, where we provide female students with free training workshops.  The Girls in Engineering program aims to promote gender equality in the engineering sector by bridging their transition from school to work by organizing practical skill training in the engineering sector, linking them to female mentors in the field and advocating for involvement of more females in the STEM sector through our various outreach programs.

TRAINING INFO

Our mechanical and electrical training program in ETAPA Synergy is aimed at equipping participants with necessary, practical and up-to-date engineering skills required by employers in the FMCG, Oil and Gas, Petrochemicals, Engineering Services, Power and Manufacturing sectors. Our training synergizes Electrical, Mechanical and Technology. Our aim is to help graduates of tertiary institutions and/or industry workers back-up their theoretical knowledge with the needed relevant skills with a state of the art learning equipment

  • Tertiary institution graduates in STEM
  • University students in STEM
  • Technicians and Engineers

Full-Time: Our full time programme is for a period of 6 months. This programme runs from 9am to 5pm everyday while some run from 1pm to 5pm.

Part time: This program runs for a duration of 1 year on Saturdays from 9am to 5pm

We admit students throughout the year.

Mechanical Engineering

  • Mechanical measurement and fittings
  • Industrial Hydraulics
  • Pumps and Compressors
  • Fundamentals of Engine

Electrical engineering

  • Electropneumatics
  • Sensor Technology
  • Motor Control-Variable Speed Drive
  • Fundamentals of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller)
  • Building Wiring
  • Computer Aided Design and Drafting.

ETAPA Synergy aims to reduce poverty in Africa by using technical education skills in STEM to increase industrial workplace productivity therefore we are a technical skill focused organization.

Upon completion of this programme, participants will be issued with certificates of proficiency and can work with high level manufacturing industries or engineering services firms.
