STEAM Program
The STEAM project is carried out to encourage participation in the STEAM profession using the catch them young approach. The program arose from a desire to provide a secure and supportive environment for secondary school children, particularly those who are currently underrepresented and underserved, to explore and develop their potential in science, technology, engineering, art (design), and math. This project-based, hands-on learning method focuses on design thinking, creative problem solving, and hands-on creation and serves as the foundation for the STEAM program.
One student at a time, STEAM project seeks to make engineering more diverse and accessible.
The course content is easy to comprehend and follow because of the interactive exercises and participation of the participants. It is the best course if you wish to engage with the industry through lecturers with practical expertise.
The program was built on four guiding principles:
- Pay special attention to pupils in middle school, when their interest and confidence are waning.
- provide hands-on experiences that will help kids improve both hard and soft abilities.
- engage in worthwhile projects that will benefit society, and
- Create a welcoming and encouraging environment for pupils to succeed.
STEAM piques students’ interest by demonstrating what can be accomplished with an engineering degree.
Students will learn;
Electrical Engineering: Wire up a paper circuit with LEDs in Electrical Engineering.
Robotics: Make an origami robot out of a pager motor and a coin cell battery.
Bioengineering: Design a protective layer for medication using bioengineering.
Computer Science: Program a micro:bit in computer science
Design Thinking: Design accessible controllers for users with disabilities using design thinking.
Environmental Engineering: Design and test a water filter in environmental engineering.
Team Building: Presenting and expressing ideas is an important part of communication and leadership. Team building entails successfully and constructively working together.
